Michiel van der Gaag

Michiel became motivated to contribute to improving the Dutch healthcare sector by various side jobs. He prefers to do this by creating usefull insights with quantitative analyses.

In 2022, Michiel completed his education in Econometrics, Operations Research and Actuarial Studies at the University of Groningen. He wrote his thesis on predicting demand for mobile telephony products. At his internship company, he also investigated the optimization of the stock control of the same products. He later worked there as a data scientist in the field of stock control and purchasing. Michiel is back at SiRM since 2023, after he wrote his bachelor's thesis with us in 2021 on the relationship between the financial situation and the quality of hospital care.
